Andrea isn’t your average Managing Director. She’s the to-do list-loving dynamo who keeps our ship sailing smoothly. So, what’s a typical day in her life at Make Me Social (and Make Me Local, our sister company)? Well, let’s just say it’s anything but ordinary. With her endless energy, and a genuine passion for people, Andrea’s leadership style is a unique blend of creativity, strategy, and care. One minute, she’s deep in budget discussions, the next, she’s brainstorming new strategies with the team. And just when you think she might be taking a breather, she’s already planning her next conquering of a to-do list.
What’s your typical day like?
No two days are ever the same for me, and that’s one of the things I love most about my role. I always start my day with a coffee while I work through my emails, ensuring that anything urgent is handled first. After that, my day is filled with a variety of meetings across different teams within the business, from budget discussions to one-on-ones with team members. These sessions are crucial to maintaining efficiency in our services and ensuring we always deliver the best possible experience for our clients.
Throughout the day, I keep my Hive updated with actions and priorities—I’m a big fan of a good to-do list with clear deadlines! This approach helps me stay organised and ensures that nothing slips through the cracks, even during the busiest of days.
What gets you buzzing about your job?
What I love most about my job is working with people. I find it fascinating that everyone is unique, and I enjoy using different styles and techniques to bring out the best in each individual, keeping them motivated and focused. I’m also lucky enough to work with such a talented and passionate team, which inspires me constantly.
The variety in my role is another aspect I really enjoy. Every day presents new challenges and opportunities, and I thrive on this – it keeps things fresh and allows me to continuously grow and adapt.
What’s your golden nugget of wisdom for anyone navigating social media?
Seeing the strategic work, creativity, and passion that our team puts into every client’s social presence is truly impressive. My top piece of advice? Let the experts handle it! Their insight and expertise make all the difference in achieving impactful results.
Which social media platform gets your heart racing, and why?
My favourite social platform has to be Instagram. I love how visually creative it is, letting brands really show off their personality. It’s not just about what they do, but who they are, and Instagram is great at bringing that to life.
I can spend hours going down a rabbit hole on different topics of interest! There’s just so much content, and I feel it has a much more positive vibe than other platforms.
What’s the coolest thing about working at Make Me Social?
What I love about MMS is that we always put what’s right for the customer at the forefront of everything we do. We’re dedicated to understanding their needs and layering that with our expertise in social media to give proactive advice and ensure they receive the best possible service, which is right for them!
Plus, I feel so lucky to work with such a fun, talented, and genuinely lovely team of people that I get to call colleagues!
