Meet Amy Phongtar, our Graphic and Video Editor at Make Me Social: she’s the wizard behind our visual magic! With a knack for turning concepts into captivating graphics, Amy’s role involves a mix of design tweaks, feedback sessions, and new project explorations. Her secret weapon? A keen eye for detail and a passion for perfection that keeps our content looking top-notch.

What’s your typical day like?

My typical day as a graphic and video editor starts with reviewing the tasks given by my line manager or a content creator team and prioritising tasks based on deadlines and project needs. This typically involves researching, drafting a feedback document, and creating social media graphics for clients.

What gets you buzzing about your job?

What I love most about this job is the opportunity to bring creative ideas to life. I enjoy the challenge of transforming raw materials into something polished and impactful. Another aspect I enjoy is the variety of my tasks. From working on graphics for social media campaigns to editing videos and collaborating with different teams, there’s always something new to learn and create.

What’s your golden nugget of wisdom for anyone navigating social media?

My top advice for social media as a graphic designer is to keep designs clear, simple, and consistent with the brand. In a fast-scrolling environment, you need to grab attention quickly and communicate your message effectively.

Which social media platform gets your heart racing, and why?

Instagram is a great platform for building a strong, visually consistent brand presence. TikTok, on the other hand, is incredibly dynamic and engaging. it’s a fantastic platform for experimenting with short-form video content and reaching a younger, highly engaged audience.

What’s the coolest thing about working at Make Me Social?

The flexibility it offers, along with the collaborative team environment. We all work hard together to contribute to developing social marketing strategies and helping businesses grow.

Got a fun fact about the industry that might blow our minds?

Many designers use the 60-30-10 rule, which is a colour theory technique: 60% of your design should be the dominant colour, 30% the secondary colour, and 10% an accent colour. It helps create a balanced and harmonious design without overwhelming the viewer.

Hit us with three fun facts about you.

  • I’ve always been interested in psychology
  • I believe that good food can have a huge impact on my mood
  • I’m a night owl — I tend to feel more creative late at night.

Never have I ever…

…gone to bed without thinking about what meal I’ll eat or cook the next day. Either I’m planning my next food adventure, or I just get hungry late at night!
